    Why is WordPad Being Removed from Windows 10/11?


    Greetings!Why is Microsoft removing the WordPad app? This is a wonderful little word processor for people that can't afford to purchase the full version of Microsoft Office or get a monthly or yearly subscription to Office, which includes Word. What will replace WordPad? Notepad is being suggested to be used, but it is not nearly as feature rich as WordPad.You can keep the app for now, but if you uninstall it, you can't get it back. It could also be removed with a forthcoming Windows Update.Jack

    Was Wordpad removed from Win11?

    Hi Mugsy'sRapSheet,

    I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    Wordpad was not removed from Windows 11, it should be located in this folder:

    C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories

    If you cannot find WordPad in there, open the Settings App, then go to Apps - Optional Features.

    Do you see WordPad in the list of installed Optional Features?

    If not, click the option to 'Add a Feature' and install WordPad from there.

    Why is WordPad Being Removed from Windows 10/11?

    Wordpad for Windows 10

    I installed Wordpad for Windows 10. However, when I attempt to "Open" a file, my file list doesn't contain the subfolder that I need. the subfolder exists in Windows Explorer. Any suggestions?
