Windows 10: Why isn't "compact view" in File Explorer working?

    Why isn't "compact view" in File Explorer working?


    I can't get "compact view" in file explorer to work. It says it's on everywhere I check. I've even checked the registry editor to make sure it's on. It's all good. But for some reason, despite being "on," my files still do not show up in compact view.

    Printer isn´t working after latest update.

    After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
    3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.

    Why isn't "compact view" in File Explorer working?

    compact view in Windows Explorer doesn't work anymore.

    Here is two example of Windows 11 File Explorer with setting 'View / Details'.

    On left is default mode (stupid choice for default) and right has *Compact' mode' turn on'.

    As you can see long list of files / folders use lot of space in default mode because of spacing between lines.
