Windows 10: Why isn't my razer headset detected by the realtek control panel?

i recently bought a new headset, that has a 3,5 mm jack, when i plug it in my laptop asks me what device did I plug in, I click on headsetwith microphone, and I click ok, but it doesn't show on the control panel. When I want to set it on default device I can't do it because it does not appear on the control panel again. The default device for input is Microphonerealtek audio and the default output device is Speakers/Headphonesrealtek audio. The headset also has additional buttons such as a mute button and a sound wheel. I updated my audio drivers so I don't think that is the problem. I'm

Sound control panel issues (headset detection)

Just built a pc for my step daughter. Audio works fine when outputted to a display with speakers built in with no problems. But when attempting to use the speaker and headphone ports (either front panel, or directly from mobo in the back), the computer does not detect them (doesnt detect the headphone speakers, microphone seems to be detected but will not register any input to the microphone). It doesn't just seem to not detect them though, its detection is completely backwards. When I look in the sound control panel without any headphones plugged in, windows seems to think there are speakers (aside from the display with speakers built in)? And as soon as I plug in the headphones, It switches to saying disconnected. I have tried reinstalling audio drivers to no avail (tried different revisions of realtek audio drivers, from realtek website and from motherboard manufacturers website). I am absolutely stumped. I know the headset works, it works fine on my pc and my daughters nintendo switch. Here is a video of the sound control panel and its behaviour when plugging in the headset. Behaves the same whether i use front panel or back. Motherboard is B365M-HDV

Please try running the troubleshooter on this
page and see if it will find any issues as well.

If the troubleshooters do not resolve the problem, let's uninstall Realtek High Definition Audio Driver from your computer to see if the computer will install the Razer Blackshark driver upon reboot. You can follow the steps below:

• Unplug your headset.
• Click on Start.
• Type Programs and Features then press Enter.
• Select Realtek High Definition Audio Driver.
• Click Uninstall/Change.
• Restart the computer.

The Realtek driver shall be reinstalled after restarting the computer. Plug the headset and see if the the Razer Blackshark driver will finally be recognized.

• Are you able to use the headset to listen to audio?
• Do you get any prompts when you connect the device?
• Have you tried to connect the headset directly to the computer?

Let's see if the device is recognized by the computer by opening the Recording devices. Follow these steps:

• Right-click on the Speakers icon on your taskbar.
• Select Recording devices.

Check for errors if you find the device on the list.

You can also run the Speech troubleshooter available in Control Panel. Here's how:

• Click on Start.
• Type Troubleshooting then press Enter.
• Click on View all on the left panel.
• Select Speech and allow the troubleshooter to run.

It will let you know if it finds any errors and fix the problem automatically.
