Windows 10: Why isn't numlock-on a default setting?

When we were on Windows XP, I don't recall having to make any changes to get numlock on. Once you turned it on, it stayed on. Even through a reboot or a shutdown. I don't recall if I had to make any changes to get it to stay on in Windows 7. We never used Vista and we skipped 10. Now we are using Windows 11 and have to change a setting in the BIOS, that doesn't work. Then I have make a change to the registry, that doesn't always work either. Today I read that if I change a setting for "Turn on fast startup recommended" it will work. And it is working better than it did before. It wasn't on w

• Click on Windows key +R to go to Run Command.
• 
  Type in "regedit." Hit "OK" to open the regedit application. This allows you to change your computer's default settings.
  
• 
  Navigate to the keyboard's default settings. Using the navigation bar at the left, choose "HKey_Users" then "Default" then "Control Panel" and finally "Keyboard."
  
• 
  Look at the right side of the window. On the right are the various default options you can change for your keyboard. Double click on "InitialKeyboardIndicators" to change the NumLock default. A window will pop up.
  
• 
  Change the NumLock default by entering a 0 or 2 in the "Value Data" field. Enter a 0 to have the NumLock set to off by default. To set the NumLock to on by default, enter 2. Hit the "OK" button to save your changes.
  
• 
  Restart you computer. Your NumLock default changes will not take effect until your computer has been restarted.

Printer isn´t working after latest update.

After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.
