Windows 10: Why might my screen saver and/or screen that has been turned off randomly turn on and...

Hello, I have my screen set to turn off after a certain amount of time, as well as the screen saver. So basically, after several hours of the screen being off, and I have not been using the system, I will see that the screen turns back on by itself. What might be causing the screen to turn on if it has not been in use and I am the only one in the room?

Screen Saver won't turn off

There may be an issue with the screen saver settings that is why you cannot turn off your screen saver using your mouse or keyboard. To resolve this issue, kindly disable the screen saver, and then re-enable it. To do this, follow these steps:

• Click the Windows logo (Start button).
• Click the gear icon (Settings).
• Choose Personalization.
• On the left pane, select Lock screen.
• On the right pane, click Screen saver settings.
• On the Screen Saver Settings window, click the drop-down menu under
  Screen saver and choose None.
• Click Apply, and then click OK.
• Access the Screen Saver Settings window again.
• On the Screen Saver Settings window, click the drop-down menu under
  Screen saver and choose the screen saver that you want.
• Click Apply, and then click OK.
• Check if you'll be able to turn off the screen saver using your mouse or keyboard.

Screen Saver Randomly Turning OFF

One factor that you need to consider is a conflict with the power settings. As a workaround, we suggest that you change power plan settings, follow the steps below:

• Search Screen Saver Settings using Cortana.
• Click Change power settings.
• Under Choose or customize a power plan, select Balance (recommended) if it was set on High performance or
  vice versa.
