Windows 10: Why my app's icon on system tray turns blank after a few days

I have several self-developed apps which would display their own icon in the Win10 system tray. Initially, those icons were displayed well, and be able to respond to mouse clicks. But after a few days running, random some of those icons not all of them became blank spaces, and not responding to any mouse click. Just like the below screenshot:Those apps can be found on Task Manager, and they are still functional.Q: What are the possible reasons for this? Anything I should be aware of on Event Viewer? What can I do to avoid this?Thanks

I suggest you to try the below steps to add the icons to Taskbar and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key, click on Settings.
• Click on System> Notifications & actions.
• Click on Select which icons appear on taskbar (to select the icons that appear on Taskbar)
  and also click on Turn system icons on or off

Notification area (system tray) icons missing, Reset did not work

With regard to your query about the system tray, we suggest that you follow the steps below and see if it helps.

• Right-click on an empty space in your desktop taskbar and select Properties.
• In the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window, find the selection labeled
  Notification Area and click on Customize.
• Click on Turn system icons on or off.
• If you'd like to always show all icons, turn the slider window to On.
• Reboot the PC for the changes to take effect.

system tray icons

I received an update to Win 10 and ever since the update, I am only able to see two icons on the system tray at the same time. For example, I now have the speaker icon and the wifi "fan" icon on the system tray. I would like to also have the battery icon
on like I've always had it. But when I check the the list of icons turned on, the 3 I mentioned are turned on. Yet I can only see 2. If I turn off the wifi icon and then turn off and back on the battery icon, I will see the battery icon. The speaker icon
remains on. If I turn on the wifi icon, the battery or speaker icon will go off. I have gone into task manager and restarted Explorer. Made no difference.

I did not have this problem before the most recent updates. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
