    Hello,

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.

Kindly try the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Locate the eject button near the disc tray. This button is usually directly to the left or right of the disc tray.
    • Press the eject button firmly and quickly. The tray should slide open.
    • Press the eject button a second time to close the disc tray.
If the above steps doesn't work try the below.

    • Open This PC.
    • Right click on DVD drive.
    • Click on Eject to open the drive.

    DVD tray

Hi Steven, I'm Graeme, an independent adviser here to help.

There should be two ways you can open the DVD tray on your laptop - a hardware button, or within File Explorer.

Firstly, on the DVD drive, look around to see if you can find a button to press. That should open the tray.

Otherwise, open File Explorer on the laptop (Windows Key+E), right-click the DVD drive and click Eject. This should also open the tray.

If none of the above works, the tray may be stuck. You might be able to see a tiny pinhole in the front face of the DVD tray, which you can push a paperclip or something similar into, which will manually open the tray.

Please let me know how you go! Thanks!

  4. Why my Laptop auto eject DVD tray ?

    I can't find a way to eject a DVD

There is a small pin hole on DVD cover tray. Look at the side of the DVD/CD player on your laptop, Grab a paperclip and straighten it out, gently insert the paperclip into the whole and push until the tray ejects. You might have a disc stuck in the tray.
    Hope that helps.
