Windows 10: Why my Laptop stuck on mute ?

Most of the times when I open my laptop, the speaker icon on the right side of the taskbar get stuck on mute a cross symbol appeared on the icon, but it works when I restart the laptop.when I open the settings it is showing NO OUTPUT DEVICE IS INSTALLED/ NO OUTPUT DEVICE FOUNDI've tried troubleshooting, updated all the drivers, and updated windows too everything is up to date.My operating system is windows 11 system manufacturer is HPSYSTEM MODEL HP Pavilion Laptop 14-ec0xxxSystem type x64-based PC

Mute Toggle Stuck

Hi,

I have been trying to get the toggle to switch from mute, but to no avail. This is on an Alienware laptop with an external monitor via HDMI. When testing sound, laptop speakers get sound, but the monitor does not. Using the sound settings, I can see that the monitor is getting inputs for sound, but is not playing them

Below is what I have tried:

• Check drivers in device manager
  
• Tried fn and the mute button
  
• Tried moving the slider manually, but it switches right back to being muted
  
• When the monitor is unplugged, sound turns on, but when it is plugged back in, it toggles off.
  

Any ideas or thoughts?

 

Volume stuck on Mute

I have windows 7. I have done nothing to change anything but suddenly the volume is stuck on mute. I can't even access the volume key. Suggestions. I have tried going to the control panel and that did not work either.

 

Mute-Mute-Mute

Guess I am joining the party. Have tried everything. Its a one shot deal with the microphone. I can do one command to Cortana and I get muted. Skype, I last a few seconds. My two computers are the same, a new Lenovo laptop, and my Asus Kabby Lake gamer. No malware or viruses, drivers are all up to date. Tried every suggestion I have found across Internet. Nothing has worked for me. Microsoft, you folks need to fix this bug, I'd call you and leave a message but I keep getting muted.
