  1. Why my Microsoft Services have locked in China mainland region?

Last month I had a travel to China and I kept using apps on my phone. Then I noticed lots of Microsoft apps showed the Chinese version to me....although I didn't mind at first. But when I came back, I realized that the situation is far worse than I thought. Bing Search www.bing.com always redirects search results to China Bing Search cn.bing.com I also can't properly purchase phone numbers on Skype, or use Copilot it keeps telling me that I've used up all my calls for the day, even though I've only just started a conversation. How can I remove my region restrictions from Microsoft? I would

    :)

Microsoft removed cortana service in China Mainland?

Hi Yongfu, I'm Graeme, an independent adviser here to help.

According to this Microsoft Support page, Cortana should still work in mainland China:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/402694...

Firstly, I would see if the troubleshooter fixes the issue. Click Start and type "troubleshoot" then select the first result. Scroll down and choose Search and Indexing. This may resolve the issue.

Otherwise, you can reset the Windows search components, including Cortana, manually by following the steps in the below article:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/971058...

Hopefully that helps! Please let me know if you need more support. Thanks!

Here ya go, Dave. Explanation of GSOD. If all is fine until you go back into that mainland Chinese site, I would suggest you not go into that mainland Chinese site.

I do know of one very active member here on Tenforums who is in mainland China. He may be able to shed some light on this for you. He is @Matthew Wai

    Cheers!

  4. Why my Microsoft Services have locked in China mainland region?

Is it legal to use China OEM Windows (PRO) outside of Mainland China?

Is it legal to use China OEM Windows (PRO) outside of Mainland China, for example, Macau and Hong Kong?

If not, is that possible to pay up to acquire the license at a reasonable cost?
