Why my pc icons disappear after sleep mode and i cant open anything and i have to restart it to work i plugged out my hardisk wire once and turned it on with plugging in the wire again

To understand the issue better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

• How are trying to start the computer from the sleep mode?
• Since from when are you facing this issue?
• Did you make any changes prior to the issue?
• Are you able to shut down or restart the machine?
• What happens when you try to come out of Sleep mode?

I would suggest you to force shutdown the computer and start the computer and check what happens.

If you are able to login to normal mode then follow the below steps to restore the power setting/plan to default.

• Press Windows + X keys, and select the option
  Control Panel.
• Click on the Power Options icon.
• Click on Change plan settings.
• Select the option “Restore default settings for this plan”.

WIndows 10 icons disappear after sleep mode.

It is an ASUS AMD A10

I have not made any changes. There is no error message.

After sleep mode my desktop photo is present but there are no icons. The lower right where the clock, internet symbol, notifications etc. is missing, meaning it's blank.

The icons on the shortcut start menu on lower middle left are present. Eg IE, file manager, google chrome. When I click to open them they don't open. When I hover my mouse over them after opening them the preview shows they are open but they are not
visible on screen. The only thing I am able to do is click on power button and restart pc. Then the icons are back after a restart.

I did the troubleshoot that you told me to do. I reset the sleep and display to 3 minutes waited 15 minutes. Woke the pc up and icons were there. I then reset the sleep mode to 30 min. and waited. It did the same thing. All icons were gone. I had to
restart pc.

well if it works within 5min, sounds like it could be losing power

'restarts after exiting sleep mode' do you mean it acts like a fresh cold boot? or you see the windows logging off screens, then it restarts?

i never use sleep or hibernate, risk of losing the session & waste of hard drive space
