Windows 10: Why need verification if I have to change the password anyway?

If I am supposed to sign in, why on Earth do I have to update my password to sign into someplace? I was actually finished editing in a new app by Microsoft , it asks me to sign in, then forces me to update my newly made password, then signs me in and I see my edited photo is no longer there. **** you Microsoft, I would rather buy Apple mac next time.
