My desktop unit running a regular version of Windows 11 has CoPilot on the task bar.A laptop running Insider Windows 11 lacks this feature, it was updated todayHow can I install it?thanks for any solution

Copilot Availability

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Microsoft are releasing Copilot on a phased basis, we will not all get Copilot immediately with that update.

This is the statement they released.

"Copilot in Windows will start to release in preview to select global markets as part of our latest update to Windows 11. The initial markets for the Copilot in Windows preview include North America and parts of Asia and South America. It is our intention to add additional markets over time."

How can I install The microsoft copilot

Hello! My name is Cristiano. I'm an Independent Advisor. I'm glad to help you.

Microsoft Copilot is currently in private preview, and access is only available to select developers. If you're an eligible developer, you can sign up to request access via the Copilot website: GitHub Copilot · Your AI pair programmer. After you have been granted access, you can install the Copilot extension in your IDE.

At present, the Copilot extension is only available for Visual Studio Code. To install the extension, follow these steps:

1. Open Visual Studio Code and click on the Extensions icon on the left sidebar (or press `Ctrl+Shift+X`).

2. Search for "GitHub Copilot" in the search bar and select the extension from the results.

3. Click on the "Install" button next to the extension. Once the installation is complete, you will need to reload Visual Studio Code to start using Copilot.

Keep in mind that Copilot is currently only available in private preview and is not fully released yet.

That's why Copilot is being integrated directly into OneNote. It works with you, embedded in the other Microsoft 365 apps you use daily to help you unlock productivity, unleash creativity, and uplevel your skills.

Building responsibly Microsoft 365 Copilot is designed for the needs of the enterprise. Our efforts are guided by our AI principles and Responsible AI Standard and build on decades of research on grounding and privacy-preserving machine learning. Microsoft’s work on AI is reviewed for potential harms and mitigations by a multidisciplinary team of researchers, engineers, and policy experts. We use the Azure Content Moderation Stack across our services to monitor and filter harmful content. Technologies like InterpretML and Fairlearn help to detect and correct data bias. The Copilot System builds on our existing commitments to data security and privacy in the enterprise. Copilot automatically inherits your organization’s security, compliance, and privacy policies for Microsoft 365. Data is managed in line with our current commitments. Copilot large language models are not trained on your tenant data. Finally, we have worked to design an experience that prioritizes human agency and puts the user in control.
