Why OneDrive acting like a Virus?

Hello Bill, sorry about your problems. My name is Marco and I will do my best to help you.

It's unlikely that a Windows programmer will see your message here, but I can give you some solutions for uninstalling Onedrive. If you have already tried one of the solutions, try the next one.

Method 1: Uninstall OneDrive via Settings

-Open Settings: Press Win + I to open the Settings app.

-Navigate to Apps: Click on Apps to open app settings.

-Apps & features: Find Microsoft OneDrive in the list.

-Uninstall: Click on OneDrive and then the Uninstall button. Confirm by clicking Uninstall again.

Or Press Windows + R to open Run and type: appwiz.cpl

Search and uninstall Onedrive in the list of apps.

Method 2: Using the Command Prompt

-Open Command Prompt as Administrator: Right-click the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin) or Windows PowerShell (Admin).

    -Type the Command:

    -For 32-bit Windows: %SystemRoot%\System32\OneDriveSetup.exe /uninstall

    -For 64-bit Windows: %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\OneDriveSetup.exe /uninstall

-Execute: Press Enter to run the command. Note that there won’t be any confirmation; OneDrive will just be uninstalled.

Method 3. For a more thorough removal, including registry entries and leftover files, you might consider using a third-party uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller. This tool can help remove all traces of OneDrive from your system.

-Download and Install Revo Uninstaller: You can download it from their official website.

-Run Revo Uninstaller: Open the program and locate OneDrive in the list of installed applications.

-Uninstall: Follow the prompts to uninstall OneDrive, opting to remove leftover items when offered.

Before uninstalling OneDrive, ensure that all your files are backed up locally or in another cloud storage service to avoid data loss.

Check for Residual Files: After uninstallation, check the original OneDrive folder location (C:\Users\USER\OneDrive) and delete any remaining files if necessary.

  3. Why OneDrive acting like a Virus?

So... I log in accentually to OneDrive at my Computer at Work and it mess around my Desktop, my Pictures, my Documents... It start downloading files from my computer at Home.
    -It moves all my Folders from C:\Users\USER\ $*Desktop $*Pictures $*Documents etc. to C:\Users\USER\OneDrive\ $* ...
..But my Desktop Folder was still in C:\Users\USER\Desktop , same as the Documents, Pictures
..Also it Starts Downloading Files and Creating Folders WITHOUT Warning and Without my Consent!

I tried to move back my Files from USER/Onedrive/Desktop to /USER/Desktop but some folders didn't moved, it continuously gives my Unexpected errors. My clients they were shouting at me, I couldn't do my job etc.

My Question is that this behavior of OneDrive looks like a Virus that mess up all the Desktop... I search the Web and I found that people from all over got the same problem... If some other program do the same thing without my Consent would be totally a Virus or a Trojan.

I HATE IT! How is it possible to REMOVE This VIRUS from my computer?
I don't want programs that mess up with my files! Its MY files, NOT your Files, NOT System files! MY FILES! If you touch it you are a BAD Program!

Is there somewhere any OneDrive REMOVER?

  4. Why OneDrive acting like a Virus?

    Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.
