Windows 10: Why processors can't run Windows 11 even when TPM 2.0 is present

I am trying to understand why some processors are not on the list of systems eligible for running Windows 11 in spite of the fact that TPM 2.0 is present.The processors I am curious about are the i7-6700K on a desktop, and the i7-6700HQ on a laptop.Yes, I know they are not on the list of eligible processors.Yes, I know they are only Gen 6.But they both have TPM 2.0 according to the results of PC Health Check. PC Health Check indicates that the only thing deficient for running Windows 11 on these two machines is the processor.So what is it that is missing from these processors or missing

If my 1st generation processor can run 11, then your 2nd generation one certainly can.

That shows you have TPM 1.2, and that it's currently disabled. That is below the Windows 11 requirement for TPM 2.0, it wouldn't pass the W11 compatibility checks on install even if it were enabled. So it's not just the processor that makes this an unsupported device. There is however a firmware update to TPM 2.0 that would appear to be applicable to your Dell Precision T5810. Once installed Win11 will run fine without TPM, I have several machines running W11 that don't have any sort of TPM at all.

3. Clear your TPM

Important

Before clearing your TPM, be sure to back up your data.
Do not clear the TPM on a device you do not own, such as a work or school PC, without being instructed to do so by your IT administrator.

Follow these steps to clear your TPM:

1. Go to Start > Settings >
   Update & Security > Windows Security >
   Device security .
2. Under Security processor, select
   Security processor details.
3. Select Security processor troubleshooting, and then under
   Clear TPM, select Clear TPM.
   
   Your device will need to restart before the process is complete.
