Windows 10: Why same iphone .mov file winodws 8 not showing media created date and windows 10 shows it?

I connect my iphone to windows 8.1 and transfer one video file .mov and go to properties details and it shows no media created date.and I connect my iphone to windows 10 and transfer one video file .mov and go to properties details and it shows media created date.How is this even possibleand in windows 10 when I try to change the media created date it keep showing error 0xc00d3e8e

MOV Video File from iPhone 7 cannot be found in Win 10


I have the following equipment:

• iphone 7 (iOS version 10.2.1; storage: 256GB)
• notebook A (Windows 10 Home, with sufficient harddisk storage)
• notebook B (Windows 10 Home, with sufficient harddisk storage)

The iphone contains some image and video files including one .MOV file with size 4.6GB.

1. When I connect the iphone to notebook A by USB cord, in windows explorer all the files can be viewed except the .MOV file (as if it does not exist).
2. When I connect the iphone to notebook B by USB cord, in windows explorer all the files including the .MOV file can be viewed.

My question is: Why can't the file be shown in Windows sometimes? Any setting in Windows 10 may have impact on this?

Why is Windows 10 showing wrong file media create date?

Totally stumped on this. Copied some mp4 files off my phone, that I need to show a correct date for. Checked the file properties and found an empty "media created" date field. The date should've read 2019/01/22 7:49 pm.

Tried to use exiftool to fix the issue with the command:

Then my machine spat 2019/01/22 2:49 pm. in my face instead.

5 hours wrong

I even used the modify all dates command

Same 5 hours behind result. Running the file on exiftool shows the correct dates.
I know my system time is correct.

I'm running windows 10. My system time and timezone setting are correct. I haven't had this problem with the photos I copied over. The "Date Taken" value was retained, and changing things through exiftool still gives the correct time in the properties. Any suggestions on how to fix this with .mp4 videos or am I missing something with exiftool?

 

Microsoft HEVC extensions: WIndows 10 Explorer crashes if an iPhone X HEVC MOV file is listed in "quick access" recent files

Hi,

Windows 10 1709 16299.192 64bit up to date

installed Microsoft HEVC extensions from WIndows Store so the Photos App and Movies can preview and play iPhone X HEVC MOV files

problem: Explorer invariably crashes each time I open "quick access" if a HEVC MOV file is listed in the recent files

the only way to stop the "quick access" view from crashing is to open another view (e.g. Dowloads), go to Properties and erase the file history

I can reproduce this any number of times, just by erasing the "recentrs" history, playing an iPhone X HEVC MOV file from Explorer, then open "quick access"

Explorer opens fine, it shows the MOV file, then after a fraction of a second Explorer becomes unresponsive and shortly thereafter it restarts

I believe it's a bug in the HEVC extensions, triggering an explorer crash, maybe when explorer tries to poll some property that became available with HEVC extensions

uninstalled and reinstalled HEVC extensions but no change

has anyone encountered this anomaly?
