Windows 10: Why so obnoxious?

You've asked me every single time I start my pc to "optimize my settings" and jump through your hoops. I keep saying remind me later, because obviously if everything works I don't need anything you are peddling. Today I finally tired of the opening display begging me to jump through your hoops and OH MY GOD there were so **** many. Question after question about **** I don't need or have no interest in, just to get back to my desktop.WHY WHY for the **** love of god WHY is everyone and everything so damn intrusive these days? I feel like a **** old fart yelling into the void. Please, leave me a

You also owe me an apology. I made no criticism of anyone's recommendations, but when I made a recommendation you were on me like a cheap suit.

I recommended a UL listed surge protector plug pad. All your attempts to suggest there was something wrong with this recommendation or my credibility were plainly obnoxious and not conducive to the thread or community.

 

Windows 10 Cumulative Updates Will Reset Default Apps


If it happens after every:

• W10 upgrade, it will be annoying
• W10 update (e.g. Defender, security fix, etc.) it will be ridiculously obnoxious

Just use the free package kpatience available in a Linux distro and run in a VM or use WSL on Windows and install - it's a bit fiddly using WSL to get some GUI apps but it's doable. A VM is the easiest.

Then ad free, no ad blockers needed and decent games too. The old W7 stuff I think works as well --always good to have multiple choices.
