Windows 10: Why the hell is my NEWLY bought gaming laptop lagging so bad??

Its getting so bad, all my drivers are updated, windows is fully updated, ive restarted so many times, yet every game is unplayable for no reason. I dont have a virus. Whats going on?? my screen is supposed to be 165 hz but its limited to 60 hz and cant change it. And the fps is so terrible!! What do i do?? it was working PERFECT a few days ago. Im starting to lose it.

If it's an online game, the lag issue may have been caused by your Internet connection. It can also occur due to the game server issue. We'll need to gather a bit more information to better identify what's causing this. Kindly answer the following:

• Have you made any changes prior to this issue?
• What card game are you having issues with?
• Is the issue the same with other games?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far to resolve the issue?

Meanwhile, if the card game you're playing is downloaded from Windows Store, we suggest running the
Windows apps troubleshooter. The apps troubleshooter can help resolve issues with games and applications downloaded from Windows Store.

Random lag spikes

Hi,

We would like to know more about your lag issue:

• What browser are you using when you experience a lag?
• Does the lag occur in a particular game?

In the meantime, we suggest you run the System Maintenance troubleshooter. Here are the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• On the left pane, click on View All.
• Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.

My games are lagging for no reason

I use a laptop with i7 10750, 16 gn RAM, Nvidia geforce rtx 2060.

My games started lagging a week ago without any new installation or downloads that I might have done (I didn't do any). I scanned for malware and everything. Nothing came up. Every program works fine except for games. I tried game mode on and off, still nothing. Even assassins creed 3 remastered was lagging.

I tried this on windows website under the question "My pc will lag on games for no reason".

1. Run command prompt in administrator.
   
2. Type DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and press Enter.
   
3. After the message of completion, run sfc/scannow.
   
4. Upon completion restart.
   

It worked and none of my games were lagging. Then suddenly it happened again today. Upon following the same steps it was working properly again. Why does this keep on happening? Also I play forza horizon 5 and arkham knight currently. Ac3 is from a different launches and first two are from steam.
