Windows 10: Why there is no solution to connect my HP P1102 printer on W10 Pro 22H2?

It is really for crying. I tried all "solutions" offered by the internet, with no result. Everything was working before I upgraded to 22H2. Installing the HP P1102 printer on a W7 computer takes only 1 minute. So many people suffer from this and still no solution. PS: a Samsung printer installed very well on W10. We are in 2022! Is there any solution which I can try beside all I tried before? Thanks.

Incomplete installation of a USB Printer - HP Laserjet P1102

Good day

I installed a HP Laserjet P1102 printer on a USB port.

I downloaded the latest driver from HP's website. The software installed fine up to the point where you connect the USB cable. It seems as if the installer does not detect the printer on the USB port and the installation does not complete succesfully.

I then uninstalled the printer again and installed the Windows Buillt In driver for the device.

That fixed part of the problem, but I am still unable to make the printer my default printer (Error Code 0x00000709).

One of my apps does not have the option to select a different printer and prints only to the default printer.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions. Did not work, even after repeated attempts.

I upgraded to W10 64 Pro from W7 64 Pro.

My new W10 said it was not able to migrate the HP 1606dn printer.

Please investigate whether this printer is actually supported by W10. I suspect it is not.

Also, please investigate other possible changes to the registry. I am competent to back up the registry before doing your suggested solutions.
