Windows 10: Why when I add a security key on an account, Windows asks me to add a pin.

When I add a security key to an account like Google or Microsoft, it asks me to add a pin to it when I don't want to, How do you fix this.

Impossible to do Security Key PIN

Windows 10 asks me to do the following to authorize a security key

Go to my account--sign in options--security key--manage--insert your security key into the USB port--touch your security key--security key pin (you are to put the old PIN here but there is none for my security key, which uses a tap) then-- New security key PIN--confirm security key PIN. How do I authorize my security key when it works by putting your fingertip on a button on the side of it as it is placed into a USB port

1 Perhaps you mean the 'Security key' for a WiFi network?
2 Perhaps you mean the 'Security key' for your router's Admin functions that is controlling your WiFi network?
3 Perhaps you mean your Windows user account login 'password' or a 'PIN' that you have set it up to accept instead?

Windows change your security key PIN

Hi forum, hope everyone is doing well. I just purchased a Yubikey for extra protection. When I go to my account settings, and try to set up the sign in with physical security key, I'm getting prompt to enter the existing PIN, but I dont have one, nor have I registered the Yubikey. The reason I'm trying to do this is, because I see that paypal needs this to be set up before being able to use it for a 2FA method to log into paypal.
