Windows 10: why when i open snip do i have to then click + ?

When someone clicks on snip tool in lower tray /toolbar/whatever it's called, isn't it obvious that this person wants to snip something? Why do i then have to click the + button?Thank you :I truly despise windows 11. I'm a very easygoing person but windows 11 really grinds my gears. I've actually used profanity in my searches like 'why does %$#@& windows 11 %$%#$% suck so bad???' and that's definitely not my style. The changes they make are so unbelievably stupid, it defies common sense, or any sense for that matter.I'm using the old version of outlook and now looking for the old version

Your post is unclear. Please post a step-by-step description of what you are doing, e.g. like so:

• Open the snipping tool
• Click "New"

Please try this:

Step 1:

Click Start, and type Snipping Tool.

Right-click Snipping Tool from the search results, and click App Settings

Click Reset,

Click Repair.

Note: In Windows 11, there is no Snip and Sketch. It comes pre-installed with the new Snipping Tool (which replaces the old Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch apps)

Step 2:

Turn off Focus assist if it's enabled

Step 3:

Open Services.msc and make sure that the following services are set to "Automatic" and running:

• Windows Push Notifications System Service
  
• Windows Push Notifications User Service
  

 

Can Snip & Sketch be removed from Open With context menus?

Recently, I've noticed that whenever I want to open an image file (.jpg, .gif, .bmp, .png, .ico, ...) to edit it in one of my programs (not just to view it), and I use the Open With context menu command, where my various image editors are listed, Snip & Sketch is in the list of apps. I can't imagine why I'd want to open one of those with Snip & Sketch with its very limited editing ability, so I've looked in the registry at these file types in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\] to see whether I could eliminate it from the Open With list. Not there. Or, at least, not obviously there.

Suggestions for eliminating it, short of uninstalling the program (which I use frequently for TenForums posts)?
