All microsoft XPS documents cannot be opened after successfully installed July 12, 2022—KB5015807 update for Window 10

After successfully installed the July 12, 2022—KB5015807 (OS Builds 19042.1826, 19043.1826, and 19044.1826) update for my desktop Window 10, all XPS format documents cannot be opened. If I uninstall this update, I can open the XPS format documents as before. How can I fix this problem? Thanks.

 

July 2022 update for Windows 10 will not install

I am trying to install the July 2022 Windows 10 update, "2022-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 version 21H2 for x64-based systems (KKB5015807)", but it consistently fails.



It reaches "Status: installing 100%" but then fails with the error, "Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x80070570)." It does this repeatedly.



First I tried the "Windows Troubleshooter" for windows update problems. It found a problem, said it had fixed it, and said to re-try. I did so, and it failed again.



Next, I tried installing the latest updates to my antivirus (Norton 360), which didn't fix the problem.

Next, I tried downloading the offline installer for the update. That also failed, but with a less informative error message.

Next, I a fix suggested elsewhere on this forum for updates that won't install: disconnecting from all networks, rebooting, stopping the windows update, BITS, and Cryptographic services, renaming the C:\windows\softwaredistribution and C:\windows\system32\catroot2 folders, then rebooting and trying again, but it still fails, exactly as on all previous attempts.

Is anyone else having particular problems with the July 2022 Windows 10 update?
