Windows 10: why will windows 10 not read my sd card

I have been trying to take off my pictures from a micro sd card using an sd card reader and a usb micro sd card reader, in multiple computers usb and sd card readers and micro sd cards. the micro sd card shows in my phone and my kindle, but will not show up in this computer. It shows in the device manager and as such I have uninstalled it - reinstalled it reinstalled the drivers which were and are up to date. THIS IS an issue with windows 10, I am unsure if you think this is helping copywrite issues but it isn't all it is doing is annoying paid customers and driving people to apple and linux. I know linux will read an sd card as I have used this. Please help with this issue and please also bear in mind I am a literate computer user who has tried every trick and fix that is online for this issue. Thank you for your help in this matter and I really hope you can resolve it as a few of my games do not work on linux but that is a small price to pay for a fully working machine.

Windows 10 will not read my SD cards. I have tried updating the drivers and other suggestions to no avail. I also have a small SD card that needs an adapter and plugs into a usb port. It doesn't read this either.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Method 1: Please check your Windows updates (including optional updates).

• 
  At the Start screen, type
  Windows Update.
  
• 
  Select Check for Update.
  
• 
  Download and Install the latest Windows Updates.
  
  Method 2: Check in compatibility mode.
  
  Download the drivers from manufacture's website for Windows 10, if there no drivers available for Windows 10, download the latest driver from the manufacturer’s website and try installing it in compatibility
  mode. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows.
  
  Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

  Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.
  
• 
  Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.
  
• 
  Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
  ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.
  
• 
  Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
  

Method 3:

Please check if the Micro SD card is listed in disk management.

• Press Windows key + X
• Click on disk management
• Check if the Micro SD card is listed
