    Why Windows Update "touches" the second non-system HDD and wakes it up from sleep mode?


    I have a PC with system SSD and second HDD for data and backups. To make the machine as silent as possible, the Turn off hard disk after 20 minutes is set in additional Power Options.

    Unfortunately everytime the Windows Update check for a new update is run manually or automatically, it turns the HDD on. Why? It isn't a system drive.
