Windows 10: Why won't my emoji keyboard match my typing?

Specifically on my web browser, Brave, my emoji keyboard will follow when I input a key, but it won't type the key that I just pressed. It will only follow the keyboard how it is laid out from start to finish 01234...qwerty... when anything is pressed. If I open my notes application both sticky notes and a .txt file the emoji keyboard works fine. It works fine on discord as well. If I go to Microsoft Edge and type something in the hot bar it will have the same error.

Emoji keyboard causes random typing.

From what I understand and how I have seen it work on other machines, when I bring up the emoji keyboard (Win+. or Win+ it should allow me to type normally, and suggest emoji that match what I type.

However, when I type with the emoji keyboard up on this machine, it produces random input. Like, literally random. For example, if I type "asdfasdfasdfasdf" while Win+. is up: qmoypana8bi5rwn0, and while Win+; is up wj21ja912oipp9d1.

I guess this could be good for generating passwords quickly, but what the heck?

 

How to fix emoji keyboard not showing up using shortcut

This issue is often caused by a corrupted or missing data file. To better isolate if this is a user profile specific or an emerging issue, we suggest that you create a new user profile and try to use the same keyboard shortcut to get the emoji keyboard to
show up. Here's the link for the steps on how to:

In the meantime, we'll give you the steps for a workaround to access the emojis. Here are the steps:

• Right-click on the Taskbar.
• Select the Show touch keyboard button option and a keyboard icon will show up on your
  Taskbar.
  
• Click the keyboard icon and select the emoji button.
