Windows 10: why wont my google pixel 8 connect to laptop via usb

This is really starting ti irritate me now, im having to go through the hassle of transfering files between my pixel n xperia my xperia is recognised via usbor blue toothing the file THIS IS A GOOGLE ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE SOLVED.....im having to bluetooth certain files and a 100mb video takes about 15 mins via blutooth,,,,,,i think if enough complain to google the issue should be resolved......or maby its a windows issue with the not correct drivers????

Pixel 8 USB File Transfer Unavailable

I have this same problem trying to connect my new Pixel 8 pro phone to a Windows 11 PC via USB cable for file transfer. For context: I can connect as usual between my Pixel 8 and a Windows 10 laptop. I can also connect between an old Huawei Mate 20 pro and both the Windows 10 and 11 PCs. So this problem (at least for me) is an incompatibility between Windows 11 and the latest version of Android on the Google Pixel 8 (pro). Very annoying. From the above we can see that this is nothing to do with changing cables or USB ports (or A or C - I've tried all). Also please will well meaning folks stop reminding us to find the USB preferences and press the screen button for "File Transfer/Android Auto"; we're way past that! As for enabling developer mode with USB debugging... NO!...these products should work "out of the box". I really hope that Microsoft and Google read these posts (I'll find a Google site to complain on). Both providers have let themselves down here.

 

laptop battery wont charge after latest update

1. Shutdown your laptop.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Connect the AC power adapter to your laptop.

4. Power on the laptop

5. Open the Device Manager by typing Devmgmt.msc into Start Menu or from Control Panel.

6. Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall (it’s okay if you only have 1).

7. Shutdown the laptop.

8. Insert the battery.

9. Power on the laptop.

If above suggestions wont resolve the battery charge issue then follow below steps.




Step 2

1. Shutdown the laptop.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Start the laptop with only AC adapter connected to laptop.

4. When you login to Windows OS connect the battery while Windows OS working.

 

Pixel 8 USB File Transfer Unavailable

In my case, I resolved the issue by using the PC USB-C charging port for file transfer with the Pixel 8. My PC has 2 additional USB-C ports which supported USB file transfer on my older Pixel phone, but do not support USB file transfer on my PIxel 8.
