    why won't my powered 3.0 usb hub work after kb5004237 win10 update


    Today this update to Win10 was pushed to my desktop computer and once the restart completed my keyboard and mouse would not work so I could not login with my user password to open the screen. After a lot of playing around with my usb plugs for them I figured out my powered 3.0 usb hub which they were plugged into is no longer working. Nothing on that hub will work now. Then I rolled back to KB5003254 but the hub still won't work even after moving it's usb plug to a different usb port on my computer. How do I repair what this update did to kill my usb hub? Thanks for any ideas you may have. Jerry

    I have a couple of USB 3 self-powered Hubs and haven't had any issue with them and updates, they don't need drivers. Have yours been tested on a different computer, maybe the onboard/built-in ports need new drivers? The USB 3 Hubs usually are backward compatible, will work on USB 2 ports but at the slower speed.

After a lot of playing around with my usb plugs for them I figured out my powered 3.0 usb hub which they were plugged into is no longer working. Nothing on that hub will work now. Then I rolled back to KB5003254 but the hub still won't work even after moving it's usb plug to a different usb port on my computer.

    How do I repair what this update did to kill my usb hub?
    Thanks for any ideas you may have.

    USB 3 Hub

    I went to the OEM site and installed some updated drivers. One was a updated driver for the motherboard. It was late and I was tired so I didn't try it with the new drivers. I'll try out tonight when I get home. This is the first time I've ever had a problem using a powered usb hub. If I use a flash drive or try my usb mouse it works. It's only when I use a HDD or SSD.
