    Why won't my preference for the highest setting STAY for "Change brightness for the...


    I have to repeatedly set my brightness to the highest setting. Why does it ALWAYS change to a dim setting? This is not a new thing and has gone on for years in Windows 10. There are lots of settings in Windows that can be set per the user's preference and they don't change repeatedly, so why not this?

    I have to repeatedly set my brightness to the highest setting. Why does it ALWAYS change to a dim setting? This is not a new thing and has gone on for years in Windows 10. There are lots of settings in Windows that can be set per the user's preference and they don't change repeatedly, so why not this?

    Perhaps that's the adaptive brightness messing around with that setting. Try this:

    -Win + Q

    -Search for Command Prompt > Right click and run as admin

    -Copy, paste, and enter these commands:

    powercfg -setdcvalueindex SCHEME_CURRENT 7516b95f-f776-4464-8c53-06167f40cc99 FBD9AA66-9553-4097-BA44-ED6E9D65EAB8 0

    <Press Enter>

    powercfg -setacvalueindex SCHEME_CURRENT 7516b95f-f776-4464-8c53-06167f40cc99 FBD9AA66-9553-4097-BA44-ED6E9D65EAB8 0

    <Press Enter>

    These commands, disable the adaptive brightness that's potentially changing the brightness settings and dimming it depending on the current lighting in the area.

    Store Settings "Update apps automatically" won`t stay switched off. WHY?

    In Settings in Store I set "Update apps automatically" to Off.

    When I go back in again it`s set back to On. Why won`t it stay switched Off?

    How do I get this stupid **** to DO WHAT I TELL IT and SWITCH OFF?

    What`s the point of having a Setting that you can`t Set?
