    Why won't my sidebar load?


    I built a gaming PC that I've been using for a few years now. I just cleared up a lot of disk space, uninstalled most programs like games and audio workspaces, and defragmented a couple weeks ago. My computer has been running great since then, until three days ago when I started it up. Every time I've logged in since then, and including that time, my toolbar won't load any icons; not short-cuts or sound and wifi. My cursor just turns to the blue loading ring when I hover over it. I can't even open the Start menu, so the only way I can shut it down--though I know it isn't good for the computer-

    Maybe I Install a Windows 7 again, At least, all of my games run smoothly ...Sadness!!

    The sidebar is the inbuilt feature of Windows 10 and it cannot be removed, however please use the feedback app to provide us your valuable suggestion.



    Steps to go to feedback app:

    • Go to search tab
    • Type Windows feedback

    Why won't my sidebar load?

    Tabbed File explorer sidebar takes a long time to load

    Soon after receiving the update to add tabs to the file explorer, the sidebar takes quite a while to load. Often it will take up to around 10 seconds to load the sidebar with all my pinned locations.

    I notice this issue whenever I open the file explorer, open a new tab in file explorer, or when explorer opens to display locations to save a file.

    Is this a bug? Are there any known troubleshooting steps or workarounds?
