    Why Won't my Sleep Setting Adjustments Stay?


    I just got a new Dell Latitude 5420 and I cannot get the sleep setting adjustments to stay. The agent on Microsoft customer service chat helped by doing remote access but did not let me record what he did so I am lost now as my system did an automatic update and it went back to the original sleep settings goes to sleep in 60 seconds if left idle which is maddening!.I know about this page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/shut-down-sleep-or-hibernate-your-pc-2941d165-7d0a-a5e8-c5ad-8c972e8e6eff so please don't send me here.     Store Settings "Update apps automatically" won`t stay switched off. WHY?

    In Settings in Store I set "Update apps automatically" to Off.

    When I go back in again it`s set back to On. Why won`t it stay switched Off?

    How do I get this stupid **** to DO WHAT I TELL IT and SWITCH OFF?

    What`s the point of having a Setting that you can`t Set?

    laptop won't sleep can't adjust brightness

    Hi,

    As you are unable to get the option for sleep in the Start menu, I suggest you to follow the steps provided by
    John T in the link provided below and check:

    Also, follow the steps provided below and check if you are able to adjust the brightness.

    • Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapters.
    • Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver.
