Windows 10: Why Wont My Visa Card Work?

Recently, I have attempted to purchase "Minecraft Java & Bedrock Edition for PC" from the Microsoft Store. Each time I enter my card information, complete the purchase, and confirm with the bank that it was me, I am redirected to a screen displaying random letters and numbers. I have used two different cards multiple times with the same outcome. Neither of the cards are expired, and the card information is correct on both cards as I have received messages from the bank confirming the purchase no charge to my account has been made. Additionally, my card is a Visa card from Heritage Bank A

How to use a Visa gift card

How do I use my Visa gift card in the Microsoft store? The "Gift card" option on the payment methods tab is like ten numbers longer than any gift card number I've ever seen and wont let me use the Visa. Does the Microsoft store only let you use a specific
type of gift card/ code? Because if so that's stupid and should be changed.

 

Windows Prepaid Visa Card won't work

When I first received my card, it was not working but worked the next time I tried it (a few days later). I first tried using it outside of the Marketplace at a regular store. However, once I logged into the website listed on the card and confirmed there
was a $25 balance on it, I then tried it in the Windows Phone Marketplace and it worked great.

Have you tried logging into the website listed on the card (http://prepaid.citi.com/uswindowsphone) and verify your $25 credit on the card? Since this is a CitiBank VISA gift card, you'd
have to contact CItiBank for any issues with it as the card would probably be issued and activated by the bank and not Microsoft. I think there might be a delay with CIti activating the prepaid cards.

To summarize, I would:

(1) log into the website and verify the $25 credit on the card

(2) Try it again on the Marketplace, at least once a day, for up to 2-3 days after receiving the card.
