Windows 10: Why won't my Windows 11 laptop detect multiple monitors with USB type C to dual hdmi?

My hp laptop was upgraded to Windows 11 but now it won't detect my multiple monitors. I am using a Anker USB type c to dual hdmi adapter to connect my hp and Samsung monitors. It worked on Windows 10. I've tried everything with no success. I'm not ringing Microsoft as from what I have seen from other posts, they have offered no help, just excuses. If anyone has a fix I'll be eternally grateful.

new laptop, windows 11, 2 monitors via KVM switch, 2nd monitor not detected

I purchased a new laptop and the 2nd monitor is not being detected. I have an LG monitor and an ACER monitor and have determined that it is not related to the monitor, but the cable.

-using old laptop, windows 10, connected to LG and ACER with hdmi to hdmi and hdmi to hdmi to USB = works.

New laptop troubleshooting:

-cable from HDMI to HDMI works.

-cable from HDMI to HDMI to USB does not work.

-cable from HDMI to HDMI to USB-C does not work.

----- HDMI/USB-C adapter is used with my work laptop, Windows 10, which works.

This is what transpired switching cables

------ cable with adapter to LG doesn't work, but regular HDMI to HDMI works with ACER

------ switch and put cable with adapter to ACER instead, and ACER does not work, but then HDMI to HDMI to LG now works.

-Graphics card updated - didn't work

-refresh rate updated - didn't work

-force detect monitor - didn't work

-All system updates updated - didn't work

-restarted many times

-disconnected and reconnected everything - didn't work

-confirmed kvm + old laptop works

-confirmed kvm + work laptop works

-problem is kvm + new HP laptop via adapter (either to USB or USB-C) = 2nd monitor does NOT work. Only 1 monitor shows. Not the 2nd monitor.

-There is only 1 HDMI port on the laptop. 2 USBs and 1 USB-C

 

Dual monitor Detection Issues

• Is this the first time you're setting up your Windows 10 device with multiple displays?

Yes

• Which port are you using to connect the secondary monitors? Are you using a VGA or an HDMI cable?

I'm using HDMI cable

Also, I ran the troubleshooter for hardware and devices still did not detect my second monitor.
