Windows 10: Why won't Win11 recognize my VGA and HDMI monitors separately?

I connect two external monitors to an HP envy 2 in 1 laptop through a USB-C hub connected to the USB-C port. Both displays are accurately identified when connected one at a time but show up as combined with connected at the same time "HDMI+VGA 1780". I can extend the display form my laptop to the external monitor HDMI, but it mirrors the HDMI monitor to the 3rd display VGA. How do I separate the two to make all three extended displays?

Computer will not connect to Toshiba Monitor using HDMI to VGA

Hello Everyone,

Having problems connecting my computer HP pavilion desktop 590 to a Toshiba TV using HDMI to VGA connection. Any suggestions. Appears computer not recognizing the TV/monitor. Using the VGA on the TV that states PC connection.

 

Monitors - VGA vs HDMI

• There are usually two kinds of connections: DVI and VGA Google them to see what they actually look like
• DVI is digital, VGA is analog
• Practically speaking the only difference is the fact that a DVI connection usually offers more resolution choices
• HDMI is kind of a special connection type. It's main advantage is that it carries audio and video on the same cable. That is why it is favoured for TV connections. You can still use HDMI for your Win7 monitor, but it has no advantage over HDMI
• In any event, your video output can restrict your resolution choices. It depends on what it is capable of. In some cases, older video circuits will not produce 1920x1080 images.
• In setting up a client Win7 machine, I would always opt for the digital setup, provided there are no problems
• If you set up VGA, most people cannot tell the difference. It may make a difference if you are doing photo/video colour work.
• A tip: Sales people often tout high priced HDMI as superior. Not true, there is no difference.

 

Displaying from laptop to monitor with VGA + HDMI

Hey there- I have a Lenovo X240 laptop, and I'm trying to display to a Dell Z23n monitor. I have a cable with a VGA end plugged into my laptop, and the HDMI end of it connected to the monitor, but the monitor says it doesn't recognize that anything
is plugged in, let alone to the HDMI slot. Is there anyway to fix this, or was I doomed from the start? (I know it's a pretty old laptop haha) Thanks
