Windows 10: Why won't Windows Millennium Edition detect my PCI slots?

Hi, I have a Gateway Select 1200 PC from 2001 running Windows Millennium Edition ME. For some reason, It's not detecting the PCI cards or slots in the Control Panel, and will not run anything that requires the graphics card or the sound card because neither of them are detected. Windows ME boots fine and the built-in programs work well, but I can't run any of my games because of this. I've tried running multiple programs and games, but the only one not built into Windows that works at all is Microsoft Bob, which is not a program I need or want to use on this PC. USB PCI installation with video in PCI 16 slot.

HP PAvilion a6567c cpu system needs to have both PCI slots operational to have an USB hub card in the PCI slot, and the video card in the PCI 16 slot. When I install the USB hub, the video card quits. Any solutions possible? Thanks.

 

PCI / PCI-E Slots

I have a Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H Intel-based motherboard. My question is.....are the PCI / PCI-E slots on the same bus as the Ethernet Controller. The reason I ask is that my NVidia GForce 210 died. And after (carefully) removing it
from the motherboard, the Ethernet Controller stopped working. I don't know if you need THIS information : I'm running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit, Intel Core i3 3220. Thanks.

 

PCI-E x8 in x16 Slot

From what I have read, it seems that one can use a PCI-E x8 card in a x16 slot. Im looking to install a PCI-E SAS card in my desktop. Nearly all of the ones Ive seen so far seem to use a x8 interface but my desktop has only 2 x16 slots, 1 x4 slot and 2 x1 slots. Before I pull the trigger and get this card, I want to be sure that you can use the smaller card in the larger slot. Everything Ive seen so far seems to suggest it will work without an issue.
