There used to be an option in the sound control panel to let you use HDMI audio without windows seeing the audio device as a monitor. WHY DID YOU TAKE THIS AWAY?!?I can't just duplicate the screens because windows sees this nonexistent display as 800x600 and that makes my 1440p monitor run at 800x600. Setting it as a mirror would be a solution if Windows would consider the different resolutions of both output devices, but it won't. This leads to an unsightly side effect. The lower resolution is used for both devices.I can't extend the display because that makes my GPU mem clock stay at 100% al

Windows 10 does not detect Sony AVR as a sound device

If Passthrough is enabled, it will see just the TV. https://www.sony.com/electronics/sup...icles/00021373

I would suggest editing your original post with the how everything is connected (ie TV to AVR HDMI Out, AVR input from PC). Then state hardware in bullet point. Then troubleshooting. It makes it easier to read. Suggest going through the Setup steps on your AVR also. https://www.sony.com/electronics/sup.../45373541M.pdf Also suggest to reinstall the drivers for your GPU.

    4870x2 won't display at 1680x1050 at all!

OK. Now I know what ur problem is. Step by step:
    1. Go to Catalyst Control Center
    2. Click on the word "Graphic" right on top left corner. It will display drop down menu
    3. Click on Display monitor and will see the list of monitor at near bottom
    4. Right Click the monitor and select "Configure". It will show up the window
    5. There will be 3 option to select. Select the middle one and then click on the tab which show the bar with 15%.
    6. Drag the bar to max, and the screen will stretch to the native resolution 1680x1050.
    7. Also click the tab with showing RGB drop down list and select the last one (it will change to image quality for pc).
    That's it. Good Luck.

Is there any way to make it where Windows doesn't see my AVR as a display?: I have my display connected via display port for 1440p/95hz support and free sync.
