Windows 10: Why would my gpu turn on and work until i reach sign in?

So i am a newbie to this pc stuff. I custom built this pc about 3 months ago. I havent had any problems u til recently. All of a sudden i noticed my gpu wasnt lighting up or even turned on. I have a yeston Radeon 6750gre 10g I have tried a lot already like going into safe mode a cleaning the files. But when I install the current amd files it wouldn’t work. I would be mid install of the driver and screen would flicker and my gpu would be turned off. I even went and got a 3060 to see if a new gpu would work but it did the same thing for its drivers. Any help possible is much appreciated

Re-seating = take out/ disconnect and than insert again. That's just to ensure good contacts. That's usual first step in troubleshooting. You can also try GPU in another PCIe slot but judging by symptoms and the picture something is wrong with 3D part of GPU processor. 2D and 3D are distinctive parts of GPU processor. Works fine in 2D but in 3D balks at drivers or develops artifacts (like in that picture) is usual sign of it.

Still not working


Hi Brink,

I am a Systems Engineer (entry-Level) and I am having this issue. I have followed all the steps that were listed, even created a new user account. This is for a customer. When I followed the steps, before creating a new user, i kept changing the path to point to the correct place. The second time, and following, I ended up getting the 2 SID's, one with the .bak. Followed the steps to delete the regular one and rename the .bak. restarted and still signs in as a temp profile. So I ended up cfreating a new user and still get the same Temp profile issue. Could you suggest something? Thanks.
