Windows 10: why would windows have me reset itself when i reset my network adapter, but HP assistant...

i noticed when the ISP has problems, windows thinks it must reset itself every time. today, i reset the modem, but hp assistant thought it needed to reset the adapter. But it did not reset windows. I also have had times in the past prior to updates that windows did not seem to wait 5 minutes to reset itself. why is this?

Resetting Network Adapter

While I have read several suggestions for resetting the network adapter, they all involve rebooting the PC. I am wondering why the Windows Network and Internet troubleshooter doesn't reboot after resetting the adapter? Whatever it does appears (mostly) to solve my network connection issues and a solution that doean't involve rebooting would be an improvement.

If you haven't install latest version of network card driver.


On Windows 10, you can also use the "Network reset" feature to fix Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity problems after installing an update or at any time that you can't connect to the network.

To reset the network adapters on your device, use these steps:

1. Open Settings.
2. Click on Network & Internet.
3. Click on Status.
4. Under the "Change your network settings" section, click the Network reset option.
5. Click the Reset now button.

You may try these steps and check the status:

  Run the Network Troubleshooter and restart the computer to check if this helps.

  You may try a different network adapter/connection type if possible.
  
• 
  Further you may also check for Windows Updates and check for updated drivers for the network adapter.
  

You will be able to solve some problems by running a troubleshooter that will automatically fix some common issues with Windows Update.

Open the Network troubleshooter by following these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on Troubleshooting and click on
  View All.
  

Click on “Network Adapter” troubleshooter to fix problems with
Network Adapter. Follow the on-screen directions to run this troubleshooter and restart the computer to check if this helps.

Further, you may reset the winsock settings and check if this helps:

Run CMD as administrator.

In the command line type: “netsh winsock reset”.

Press Enter then restart your PC to check if this helps.
