  2. Long Boot up in new laptop. MSI Stealth GS75

I bought this MSI Stealth GS75 with Win 10 Home two months ago. It booted quicker when I first got it, though I was expecting better start up performance. Currently it takes over 3 minutes to boot, that is longer than my 10-year-old 1st Gen i7 Sager it replaced. (The Ryzen 1700 machine I built over a year ago starts in 30 sec.) This extreme slow down is recent, and there were no changes or new software installs -- other than swapping out my 12-year-old Dell 24" external monitor for 4-year-old 27". It just started to drag.

Anyone have suggestions other than restore/reinstall windows? Specs below.

    Could this be a problem?

I'm not sure what you mean by this? Do you mean post the startup list here?

Found what I think is the problem. My older USB external 1TB drive. If I disconnect it the machine boots quickly in seconds. Plugging it back in and the boot takes 3-4 minutes.

When I first got the machine, my my Logitech Alto dock/stand would not be recognized. This 1TB drive was recognized only some of the time. Someone said something about BIOS/UEFI not recognizing older USB equipment, do I really need to dump these items? I love the Alto. 1TB is a spinning.

  4. Wi-fi ceased to exist on my MSI GS75 Stealth laptop

Wi-fi ceased to exist on laptop

    The issue:
My laptop no longer registers that it has a Wi-fi function, only Ethernet and airplane mode appear in network options.

    Platform:
Using a laptop on windows 10, my wireless network driver is "Killer(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX1650x 160MHz Wireless Network Adapter (200NGW)"

    Attempted fixes:

    - Troubleshooting through settings
    - Uninstalling driver and restarting laptop.

    - Downloading update for driver and installing, also uninstalling and restarting laptop again.
    - Downloading driver install file from scratch, get error code 183 when attempting to use, not sure what that means and can't find a straight answer.

    Speculation/ further info:
    - switch between Ethernet and Wi-fi a lot and feel like this has something to do with it, no evidence for this though.
    - I'm assuming its to do with the driver, but it could be another issue? i just have no idea what could cause this.
    - I vaguely remember this happening before and fixing it, i just have no memory at all of how, maybe id didn't, it has been a WHILE since i tried using Wi-fi.
