Windows 10: Wi-Fi Connection Problem

I am currently a University student living on residence, and I have been experiencing problems with my desktop not being able to connect to Wi-Fi. When I am on my desktop, it would randomly disconnect from my Wi-Fi, and it will not allow to me to reconnect when I try again. I am unsure if it is an issue with my desktop or my residences' internet, and I would like some help with this problem. The Wi-Fi seems to work on my laptop

I suggest you to run the in-built troubleshooter for Internet connections.

• Open 'Settings' and click on 'Update and security'.
  
• On the left pane, select 'Troubleshoot' and run the troubleshooter for 'Internet Connections'.

After windows 1903 update I don't have any wi fi connection or icon showing and have tried many suggestions on how to get it, but none have worked.

Can you provide a step by step instruction on how to get wi fi icon and network.
