Windows 10: Wi-Fi hotspot failed to allott IP adress

I have windows 10 on my Lenovo laptop on which I used to share my ethernet connection over portable hotspot. After a hiatus of 2 months, when I tried to switch on the hotspot and connect my phone, the Wi-Fi status on my phone is stuck at "failed to obtain IP adress". I have teied all the hacks on youtube and the like but in vain.

I have also "shared" my ethernet to "Local area connection #12" which is my hotspot.


Inspite of doing all this, I am still unable to use.

Trouble Changing Wi-Fi Password


I've been following the following steps to change my Wi-Fi password for some time:

1. Launch Control Panel.
2. Click "Network and Internet."
3. Click "Network and Sharing Center."
4. Click "Wi-Fi...."
5. Click "Wireless Properties."
6. Click the Security tab.
7. Check "Show characters."
8. Enter the password in "Network security key."

Those steps have been working just fine, but today I discovered a new wrinkle. If I change the password inside the router first, "Wi-Fi..." doesn't appear in step 4. This isn't much of a problem at home, because I can just change the password in Control Panel before I change it inside the router, but it would be a problem at a public hotspot, or something of that nature. I also tested Brink's instructions in "How to Connect To a Wireless Network in Windows 10," but they don't work for me either. How can I fix this?

 

Static IP settings for Wi-Fi Network

I'm using MS Lumia 535 with Denim update. My phone updated to latest firmware version. Our office using a static IP based Wi-Fi network. Where user need to give IP manually (Static) along with Password to connect with Wi-Fi hotspot. My co-workers mostly
using Android device and can give static IP easily. Me with a Windows Phone running into problem as there's no option to set static IP under Wi-Fi settings.

I do some search and found that Lumia devices (i.e. Nokia Lumia 525, 630) with Cyan has that static IP option under Wi-Fi settings. isn't Denim is latest upgrade? then why it has no option to set static IP? I need it badly to use Wi-Fi at office.

is there any way to enable static IP settings under Denim? any kind of help is appreciable. Thanks.
