  1. Wi-fi list won't stay open

Before it gets suggested that there is a problem with my wi-fi settings, network drivers, etc. please realize THIS IS AN INTERFACE ISSUE. I'm sorry for the bluntness, but every search I've done on this, results in 90% of the people assuming this is some kind of problem with network connectivity. I can connect to networks just fine.

My problem is that I cannot access the LIST of networks when I click the system tray icon. The list pops up briefly, only to disappear before I can do anything with it. This problem is not exclusive to the wi-fi list. It also occurs when I try to project my desktop to another monitor through the (windows logo + P) command. The list for that pops up for a split second, then it's gone.

Oddly enough, I just tried my Action Center icon, it did the same thing on my first attempt, but afterwards it seems to be working fine. But the wi-fi, and screen projection keep giving me trouble.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    :)

  3. Norton Win User
    USB Wi-Fi Adapter Disabling

Is it on Windows 8's compatibility list (check MS website- forgot link)?

I had an issue with one Wi-fi adapter and it wasn't listed as compatible- All was well when I swapped it out with one on the compatibility list

    Trouble Changing Wi-Fi Password

I've been following the following steps to change my Wi-Fi password for some time:

    1. Launch Control Panel.
    2. Click "Network and Internet."
    3. Click "Network and Sharing Center."
    4. Click "Wi-Fi...."
    5. Click "Wireless Properties."
    6. Click the Security tab.
    7. Check "Show characters."
    8. Enter the password in "Network security key."
Those steps have been working just fine, but today I discovered a new wrinkle. If I change the password inside the router first, "Wi-Fi..." doesn't appear in step 4. This isn't much of a problem at home, because I can just change the password in Control Panel before I change it inside the router, but it would be a problem at a public hotspot, or something of that nature. I also tested Brink's instructions in "How to Connect To a Wireless Network in Windows 10," but they don't work for me either. How can I fix this?
