  1. Wi-Fi - randomly stops working and cannot connect to internet message

I Hope that somebody can help with this one ...

Randomly my Wi-Fi Internet stops working, with a not connected icon in the system tray. When i click on the icon the network is there in the list. I Click on connect and then i get a 'Cannot connect to the internet' message.

if i reboot the Wi-Fi reconnects and all is well, but this means i have to close everything down and restart, then re-load everything once again.

    I am running Redstone 2 version of Windows - 1703 (build 15063.250)
The Wireless adaptor driver is Qualcomm Atheros AR956x Wireless Network Adaptor.

The problem has only arisen recently after weeks of smooth running after the Redstone 2 upgrade.

    :)

  2. Wi-Fi Acting Strange

For some reason a few days ago my laptop started randomly saying that my wi-fi had lost connection. By this I mean that my laptop was still connected to the wi-fi, but it wasn't receiving an internet signal. I know the first thing you'd probably say is
to check where the wi-fi signal is coming from, but not only have I already done so, I've got multiple other devices connected to said wi-fi and they'd have no problems at all. Another strange thing is the fact that if I disconnect then reconnect it starts
to work again perfectly fine, but then later at another random moment it will stop again. I don't know what could be causing this.

    Limited WIFI

I faced the same issue with my Asus notebook, very frustrated because I cannot work without internet connection. After the upgrade to windows 10, I directly faced the issue (Wi-Fi limited-no internet access). Then I reset my Wi-Fi Router, connected it again.
It worked, but the next day it happened again. Tried the above mentioned solutions, to uninstall antivirus, and other unnecessary apps, such as VPN apps, etc. It did not work. At last in order to work with internet, I temporary used an external Wi-Fi adapter.
    This external adapter worked.

Then my conclusion was the driver of my notebook's adapter should be incompatible even I had installed the latest one (ver. 10.0.0.321). The Wi-Fi adapter of the notebook is Atheros AR9485WB-EG, so I looked for other older ones, and downloaded randomly and
tried one by one, until I found the working one (ver. 10.0.0.075).

    Hopefully this is helpful.

    Regards.

  6. its still happening so purchased a USB 5g Wifi Adaptor, so i cut out the troublesome Qualcomm Atheros Wifi Driver, as i was sick of rebooting to re-enable the wifi.

  7. Update on the problem ... purchased a Netgear wifi adaptor (so i could use 5ghz connection). However the problem still persists. Every 2 or 3 days the connection drops and the dongle cant find the 5ghz connection. I found a quick fix by disabling the wifi adapters for 30 seconds or so, then re-enabling them, the dongle then sees the both the 2.4 & 5 ghz connections and reconnects automatically.

So i cant figure out whether its my router (seems unlikely), my laptop (probably) or the dongle (unlikely). So the problem is either my hardware or software driver. The search for a permanent solution goes on.
