    WiDi connection issue

So this has been a recurring problem which I had thought was resolved by removing my TV from 'Bluetooth and other devices' --> 'Wireless display & docks'.

It occurred last week, while casting to my Samsung TV, I installed the latest Windows updates which only updated:

November 19, 2020-KB4586878 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10, version 1903, Windows Server, version 1903, Windows 10, version 1909, and Windows Server, version 1909

and rebooted while still casting to the TV.

After rebooting I can no longer connect to my TV. I can use WiDi with my phone so there is no network issue or issue with the remote device

    I have tried the following:

    1. Removed the device from 'Bluetooth and other devices' --> 'Wireless display & docks'.
    2. Reinstalled the latest wireless driver from HP HP Omen laptop 17-an107ni and rebooted.
    3. Forced my router to use 2.4GHz 11b/g/n mixed on 20/40 bandwidths and 5 GHz 11a/n/ac mixed on 20/40/80 bandwidths respectively Currently is on auto for either.
    4. Reinstalled by graphics driver Latest NVidia GeForce GTX 1060 and rebooted.
    5. Uninstalled both hidden virtual network adapters --> 'Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter' and 'Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter 2' Its not clear why there are multiple devices, if I remove #2 and try connect it automatically creates it again. and rebooted.
    6. Threw my toys out the cot and had a rant.

    Anyone can suggest another option?

    :)

    Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

    - What happens when you doesn't uses the Intel WiDi and directly try to stream/connect?

If the issue is only with Intel WiDi, I suggest you to get in touch with Intel and check.
