Windows 10: widnows.old - windowsapps folder wont delete

self explanatory. the files inside areMicrosoft.DirectXRuntime_9.29.1974.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe xactengine2_1.dll xinput1_3.dllPROBABLY RELATED TO MY PREVIOUS POST ABOUT CORRUPTED XBOX GAMES. i have now reset my computer.disk cleanup doesnt fix.thank you for the help

How do I delete my old WindowsApp Folder?

Hello, I've reset my pc before and now when I try to move or download a windows app to my E drive it tells me it needs to delete the old folder to do so. When trying to do that it tells me the operation did not complete successfully and gives me an error code of 0x80070002. After this, I tried to follow another guide to delete the folder manually (How do I delete my old WindowsApp Folder? - Microsoft Community) and when I followed all the steps and went to delete the folder it told me action can't be completed because the file is open in system.

 

Cannot delete old WindowsApps folder from transferred D drive

I transferred a D drive with an old WindowsApps folder used for Xbox Game Pass to a new computer. When I tried to put the D drive as the default save location it gives me error code 0x80070005.

I was able to rename the old folder to "Old WindowsApps" so that the computer could place a new default "WindowsApps" save folder in my D drive.

I've already:

1. Made sure my time zone is correct
2. Tried to delete in Safe Mode
3. Made sure I am admin in general (2nd screenshot)
4. Set myself as admin of folder and all subfolders (1st screenshot)
5. Reset the Windows store page

I already have a new WindowsApps folder for Xbox games, how do I delete the old one?

 

Deleting old windowsapps folder

For some reason I can't remember, I made a new WindowsApps folder on my D: drive, and now that I try to delete the previous windowsapps folder, I'm unable. I've tried changing ownership of the file to myself, everyone, system etc. and I am told that I need permission every time. The folder is over 70 GB so I would really like to delete it!
