Windows 10: Widows 10 will not activate after completing a windows reset

Hello,


I have an HP Envy desktop, was having severe slow downs so I preformed a Windows "reset". Everything seemed to be working perfectly, have super fast internet on Edge, etc. But when I try to sign into my Microsoft store account it just flashes and won't allow me to download any apps from the store. Then I realized my Windows wasn't activated. Upon further search, I found that the Windows won't update, activate or do any other online. I have attempted troubleshooter in windows, with no results. Did some research online and found a few fixes and none worked. So, I decided to to another "reset" to see if I could get a clean install, but now during the first screen, It says the computer can not be reset and no changes were made. I need some of my apps and other items from the store and I need my windows updated.


Please help!!!

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
