Microsoft, I wanted you to know something is not playing well with Windows, causing it to be unusable forover an hour, with no end-user notifications.

After starting my computer, and waiting for it to get to a steady state, very little that I clicked on worked. Clicking on Google Chrome or Windows programs or even getting to Restart did not work. Luckily, getting to Task Manager worked. Nothing in CPU, Memory, Disk, Network or GPU was above 30%. I was able to reboot from Task Manager. It said that coresync musync Adobe was causing it to not shut down. But then it handled it and shut down itself.

After the computer restarted, I had the same issues - clicking on most applications did nothing. Looking at what is taking the most usage and also finding coresync in the Task Manager, I noted that this is an Adobe Creative Cloud app and several Adobe Creative Cloud related apps had most usage. but not above 30% according to Task Manager.

The Windows issues were resolved once adobe's coresync went away from task manager - my computer went back to normal behavior. I am not positive that is the issue, just have my suspicions. Since my computer started working again CPU is at 10%, Memory at 21%, and Disk, Network and GPU typically at 0 to 2%. After my computer started allowing me to click on things, after over an hour of not working, looking at EventViewer, I noticed multiple information and warnings that may or may not be related to Adobe, or may be related to Adobe not allowing other apps to properly start due to hogging of resources.

Windows tech support helped me several weeks ago by reviewing my computer settings after I had other issues with speed of my applications and security issues with Microsoft's security app not updating and not allowing ESET Nod32 to register as a service, again everything in Task Manager was below 30%. The review improved the situation slightly, and Microsoft's security app upgraded and started behaving well again the next day. They said a second tier technician would call and gave me an appointment for a week ago, but no one ever called or contacted me. Which was ok with me since I fixed several issues on my own and event log was doing well... until recently.

My biggest complaint is that Windows is allowing my computer to have issues without any way of seeing what's happening while it is happening that I know of. And nothing to warn the average user about what is happening or what to do - you just can't click on things. I still think Adobe Creative Cloud is holding on to things that it shouldn't and may be causing other applications not to start properly. That is still my best guess.

    My questions are:

When this happens again, how do I figure out what is for sure causing it, when it is happening?

And is there anything I can do about Adobe grabbing too many resources at startup for their various Creative Cloud apps checking my computer to see if it needs updates? - they need to be throttled further even though Task Manager shows below 30%.

And why does Task Manager always show everything at 30% or below? - I don't believe it.

And please explain what would allow my mouse to move, but not to click or the apps to accept most clicks - I was very surprised to see my mouse being able to move, but some apps required multiple clicks when normally clicking once worked, and most apps would not respond at all when clicked - and yet Task Manger was at 30% or lower. I just don't understand. I have an Intel Core i7-4790 CPU@ 3.6 Ghz and 32 GB physical RAM installed with Windows 10 Pro version 1903. I have a wired mouse, no battery.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks!

    :)

    Extremely long and incomplete boot

This may be a long shot. My PC hung at boot yesterday after typing the password - see Can't Login - Further Troubleshooting Steps?

I ran chkdsk c: /spotfix and all is now fine. Someone has also suggested running chkdsk c: /r.

  3. background (wallpaper) seems to be hung

I see on my background a picture from a series of pictures I wanted for a slide show. Went to Settings/Personalization/Backgrond and followed the steps once upon a time and I think it worked? Anyway, now the app appears to be hung and I don't know how to get it working. I've tried going through the settings and can change the background (behind the slideshow) color but nothing else. I found your forum and tried many of the ideas suggested to no avail. Can someone suggest how to get it working again?

Need Serious Help: How To Record Video of What is Done on my PC?

I suggest the following simple steps:

    1. Set the autosave options in MS Office to a low value say 5 minutes.
    2. Setup file history to autosave frequently - the shortest period is 5 mins
    3. Install Macrium Reflect Free and configure it to do a daily incremental system backup

You should be well covered if you do the above to protect your key files.
