    Wierd Recovery folder in C:\


    Hello, I was using treesize program to check for anyting unnusual and i noticed a Recovery folder in my C:\ that has a AutoApply foler and a OEM folder. Inside the AutoApply folder there's another folder called CustomizationFiles and inside of it is a exe called overseer.exe. Also some of the folders have dates of being created before i did my pc reset back in december 2022 that i did because my pc got infected. So are these files somekind of recovery files from my last pc before the reset? I just wanted to know if this folder is any dangerous or if it could be a source of malware. notice: I

    C windows installer folder - Delete?

    He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink Wierd Recovery folder in C:\ ;)
    Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

    Like:
    First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
    Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
    Then type this in command mode as admin
    mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

    Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

    What is in the C:\Recovery folder?
