  1. WiFi 2 - PC detects one Wi-Fi adapter as 2 Network Adaptors, how do I remove one?

WiFi 2 - PC detects 2 Network Adaptors, how do I remove one?I recently had my power supply fail and after buying a new one and booting up my pc I reset my bios settings which I believe has caused my pc to recognise a new instance of my WiFi adapter. When I view the network button in the system tray I see a drop down of WiFi and Wifi 2. I have recognised Wi-Fi 2 to be the old instance of the adapter through my data usage settings and the one named WiFi to be the new one.In device manager as well as they appear as 2 separate devices named by the drivers they have, this is also visible in contro

    Can't detect any Wi-Fi network

    Hi,

My Laptop(Lenovo ideapad 310-14IKB) suddenly can't detect any Wi-Fi networks. I can confirm that the Wi-Fi network appears as public on my phone. Troubleshooter can't fix this problem automatically but instead spews out this error :

There might be a problem with the driver for the Wi-Fi adapter

Windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter.

So far, I've took these steps to try fix the problem without resetting my laptop:

    • Reinstalling driver. Both newest from manufacturer website and rolled back version.
    • Network reset on Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network Reset.
    • Disabling IP Helper on services.msc
    • `netsh winsock reset` and restart
    • TCP/IP stack reset
    • Disabling DHCP Broadcast Flag for my Wi-Fi adapter
Is there anymore things that I can do to fix this?

PS: My Wi-Fi is 2.4Ghz and my laptop can detect both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz before this error.

Not able to connect to wi-fi network

    Hi Arul,

Thanks for the quick reply. Yesterday when I wrote that query windows not at all detecting the wireless network. And now , today it detected and connected to the network without doing anything. Not sure what's happening, though the problem solved
    somehow.

But jus for your information, I performed few troubleshooting like,

    1. By write click on the Wi-Fi icon and troubleshoot from there and got the error message like "Problem with Wi-Fi adapter or access point
    "

2.Opened the network sharing center and right clicked on the Wi-Fi icon and chose Diagnose option from there and got the same error message as in above step.

3.Updated the Wifi adapter driver and restarted the system and again performed the same steps(1&2). Got the same error.

    4. Then disabled and enabled the drivers and Wi-Fi , but nothing was working

    5. I shut down the laptop and went to sleep, since it's very late by that time

    6. Started the windows normally again by today morning and I found it detected the wireless network.

These are all the steps/ troubleshooting steps I've performed.
