Windows 10: WIFI 6 Mediatek MT7921 not connecting when Lenovo Yoga awakes from sleep

My Lenovo Yoga laptop has recently developed a network adapter fault I think.When I close the lid and the laptop sleeps, the internet will not start. I have tried troubleshooter, but it cannot fix it. I have to close the laptop down and wait a few minutes. When I start it again the adapter starts and I have internet again. I have done all the Lenovo suggestions and updates. I have also done the Windows updates Windows 11. I have done the update 22H2, but that did not cure anything.Lenovo have suggested I back everything up and re-install windows 11. Seems a bit of a 'faf' just to get the a

Dear Jeremyb777, thank you for your advice. I have Lenovo Ideapad gaming Ryzen7 which has mediatek MT7921 wifi card. If I hadn't read your advice, I would have taken my laptop back to the store, to get another one. Thank you so much, and all best wishes to you. Appreciate your solution.

Thanks to you i have fixed this problem. I have Asus M16 (2021) and wifi card disconnected random. Now it's ok. I hope that windows update doesn't blow everything up again....

 

WIFI 6 Mediatek MT7921 card not working after June 2022 update

Hello DangVS, welcome to the Microsoft community, I'll be happy to help you today;

I understand that the Mediatek MT7921 WIFI 6 device is not working properly;

Initially I recommend that you uninstall the device;

Right click on the start menu and go to Device Manager;

Click (>) Network adapters to expand the session;

Right click on the WIFI 6 Mediatek MT7921 and select Uninstall;

After uninstalling, restart the PC;

Go to the Microsoft Store and download the My Asus app;

Open the app and click on Customer Service;

In the LAN tab, download the latest driver for the wi-fi device;

Go to the location where you saved the driver;

Unzip the files;

Access the folder and open the Setup file to start the installation;

After the installation is complete, try to connect to the Wi-Fi network;
