1. Wifi Access Point asks for Pin instead of Passphrase

We are opening an Access Point with network manager on a RPI4 with Raspbian and everything is working fine except that when connecting from Windows 10 we are asked for a pin first probably wps pin instead of getting shown directly the passphrase field to enter. This is not observed on Mac and Linux.

Any idea what the problem could be? Anything special I need to activate in my access point?

    Thanks and best regards

    :)

My Nokia 5800 Has no access points

The wifi access points have to be set up manually.

Goto Settings>Connectivity>Destinations>Access points add new access points. Your phone will now search for access points within range. Once it finishes the search, just select your own wifi. You will be asked for the key/passphrase if your wifi is encrypted.

  3. Microsoft phone is locked and asking for passphrase

    Hello,

I have a colleague with an issue that states - "Microsoft phone is locked and asking for passphrase. I didn't set up a passphrase only a passcode so cannot unlock the phone".

What would the possible suggestions to fix this issue be? I thought I could advise him to reboot, soft reset or hard reset, but would like to advise with you as well before proceeding.

    Thanks in advance.

    BR,

    Ivan

    Access Points and Destinations

it takes a bit of getting used to moving from the access point lists to the destinations list they use now.

a couple of points i would suggest that are useful is that

1 many applications will inherit the settings specified in the browser or the 'default' setting in the destinations menu

2 you can add destinations and copy access points to them, if say you want some things to use wifi and an internet cell access point in that order, but you want something else to only only the internet cell access point you can add it to a new destination.

3 some apps that bring up the destinations list allow you to select access points from the options menu.
