Windows 10: WiFi adapter keeps giving problems!!!!

seems this is a common fault going by this feedback 240 one star on amazon uk perhaps you should invest in a better quality one and if that doesn't cure it amazon have a very good returns policy, just a thought as I had a similar problem with one of these usb cards and landed up updating to a dual card to handle 5gz as well using just the one Arial lead with the 2.4gz that was supplied with the laptop by penny pinching hp

 

Check you are using the latest driver from the manufacturer's site.

Use an app like WiFi Analyser or MetaGeek InSSIDer to check your WiFi signal strength and whether other people nearby are using interfering WiFi channels. Put you WiFi device on an extension lead and wave it around to see if there is an orientation which gives a better signal strength. Try setting a different WiFi RF channel in your router if there are interfering signals.

With regards to post 11. Here is the path to Advance Power Option

Right Click Start > Power Options > Additional Power Settings > Change Plan Settings (beside plan in use) > Change Advance Power Settings > Window Opens, click on required heading...... In this case USB Settings

 

Ok..........Now after 5 shutdowns it seems to give no problems.....SO FAR.......

I WILL POST WITHIN A WEEK AND WILL ALSO TRY RESTARTING.....

Ok..... So after 5 days and several restarts layer......

The issue seems to have stopped.......
II think the driver was the problem.....And installing a new one from the website solved it...
